Distribution: Occurring west of the Cascades crest along the coast in Washington; southern British Columbia to California.

Habitat: Coastal islands, headlands, and seabird nesting sites.

Description:
General:

Low, slender annual.

Leaves:

Leaves opposite, sessile, narrowly oblong, entire or with slender pinnate lobes.

Flowers:

Heads radiate, the rays yellow, short, pistillate and fertile; involucre of a few separate, equal, herbaceous bracts; disk flowers yellow, perfect and fertile; pappus of 3-7 awns and as many alternating, divided scales; receptacle naked.
