Distribution: Occurring chiefly east of the Cascades crest in Washington except in sagebrush areas; Alaska to California east to Alberta, west to Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah.

Habitat: Open woods to gravelly meadows in the plains and lower mountains.

Flowers: May-August
