Distribution: Occurring chiefly east of the Cascades crest in Washington, but also common in the Olympic Mountains; Yukon Territory to Oregon, east to the Rocky Mountains and northern Great Plains.

Habitat: Moist to dry meadows in higher elevation forest openings, and in subalpine and alpine areas.

Flowers: June-September

Origin: Native

Growth Duration: Perennial

Conservation Status: Not of concern
