Distribution: Occurring on both sides of the Cascades crest and distributed widely throughout Washington; Alaska to California, east to the Rocky Mountains, further eastward where likely introduced.
Habitat: Thickets, forest edge, and open slopes, from the lowlands to middle elevations in the mountains.
