Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in Washington; British Columbia to California, east to the Rocky Mountains and northern Great Plains.

Habitat: Common is open plains and foothills, often with sagebrush.

Flowers: March-May

Description:
General:

Slender annual, simple to freely-branched and loosely ascending, up to 3 dm. tall, usually with fine stalked glands.

Leaves:

Leaves alternate, pinnate, all cauline, the 7-15 leaflets 2-9 mm. long and 1-4 mm. wide.

Flowers:

Flowers terminal and solitary on the branches; calyx 2-5 mm. long, 5-lobed; corolla inconspicuous, whitish, about equaling the calyx, the 5 lobes about equaling the tube; style 3-parted; ovary superior.

Fruits:

Capsule 3-celled.
