Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in Washington; southern British Columbia to California, east to the Rocky Mountains and Texas.

Habitat: Dry, open plance, especially dry, sandy bottom lands.

Flowers: June-September

Origin: Native

Description:
General:

Glandular-pubescent, odorous annual, the stem 3-10 dm. tall.

Leaves:

Leaves alternate, entire, the lowermost petiolate with lance-ovate to elliptic blades 2.5-12 cm. long and 1-5 cm. wide, the others reduced and narrower upward.

Flowers:

Flowers several in an elongate, terminal, mixed panicle; calyx 5-toothed, the teeth triangular, unequal, the longer ones 2-4 mm. long, much shorter than the tube; corolla dirty white, the tube 2.5-3.5 cm. long, the abruptly-flaring limb 8-14 mm. wide; ovary superior.

Fruits:

Capsule ovoid, 2-celled, about 1 cm. long.
