Distribution: Occurring chiefly east of the Cascades crest in Washington; south-central British Columbia to south-central Washington.

Habitat: Open to wooded slopes from middle elevations to the subalpine.

Flowers: May-August

Origin: Native

Description:
General:

Mostly glabrous, slightly glaucous perennial from a long, stout taproot and branched woody base, 2-6 dm. tall.

Leaves:

Leaves mostly all basal, ternate-pinnately dissected into broadly linear or linear-elliptic segments 1-5 cm. long and 2-6 mm. wide.

Flowers:

Inflorescence a compound umbel, the rays unequal, 1.5-5 cm. long; involucre wanting; involucel of several narrow bractlets; pedicels short, 1-4 mm. long; calyx teeth obsolete, flowers yellow.

Fruits:

Fruit glabrous, narrowly elliptic-oblong, 8-12 mm. long, deflexed; lateral wings from half as wide to nearly as wide as the body.
