Distribution: Extreme southeast Washington, eastern Oregon and adjacent Idaho, to northeast California.

Habitat: Open slopes, flats, meadows and swales, from the lowlands to moderate elevations in the mountains.

Usually galbrous perennial from a simple crown and short and thick or long and slender roots, the 1-2 stems simple or branched at the base, 1-5 dm. tall.

Leaves usually all basal, occasionally with 1-2 stem leaves on larger specimens; leaves ternate-pinnately 2-several time dissected into linear, elongate, unequal segments 0.5-2 mm. wide and 1-5 cm. long.

Peduncles long, ascending to erect; rays of the umbel elongate, uneven, up to 11 cm. long; involucel of well-developed bractlets 2-7 mm. long and up to 1 mm. wide; flowers usually yellow, occasionally white; pedicles 1-2 mm. long.

Fruits glabrous and crowded, 6-13 mm. long and 2-3 mm. wide, scarcely winged.
