Distribution: Occurring in forested areas on both sides of the Cascades crest except in southeastern Washington; Alaska to Oregon, east to Alberta, Idaho, and Montana, and disjunct in Wyoming; circumboreal.

Habitat: Moist woods, streambanks and wet cliffs.
