Scapose, perennial herbs from brown, ovoid bulbs 1.5-2.5 cm. long and 1-1.5 cm. wide, the scapes 7-20 cm. tall.

Leaves 2, basal, opposite, with a sheathing blade; non-sheathing blades green, linear, 5-15 cm. long; sheathing blade white, tubular, membranous, enclosing leaf bases and scape.

Inflorescences 1-flowered, subtended by 2 bracts, united below and split on 1 side; flowers nodding, fragrant; tepals 6, distinct, unequal, the outer 3 white, oblong to broadly obovate, 1.5-2 cm. long; inner 3 tepals white with a green blotch on the apex, narrowly obovate or oblong, 7-12 mm. long; stamens 6, distinct; style 6-8 mm. long; ovary 3-celled, inferior.

Capsule green, globose, fleshy, 5-6 mm. long.
