Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in Washington; Alaska to Oregon and Nevada, east across much of the U.S. and Canada to the Atlantic Coast.

Habitat: Rock outcroppings and roadsides where calcareous, also tolerant of alkaline soils.

Flowers: June-July

Origin: Native

Growth Duration: Biennial, Perennial

Conservation Status: Not of concern

Pollination: Bees, butterflies, flies, hummingbirds
