Distribution: Occurring west of the Cascades crest and east in the Columbia River Gorge in Washington; Lewis and Thurston counties, south to Marion County, Oregon

Herbaceous perennial from fleshy roots, the erect stems 4-8 dm. tall.

Basal leaves long petioled, the blades large, delicate, 2- to 3-ternate, the segments wedge-shaped at the base and blunt-toothed, pale and puberulent on the lower surface; cauline leaves 1-3, alternate, similar to the basal leaves.

Flowers 3-10 in terminal and axillary umbels on peduncles, the pedicels slender, 2-4 cm. long; sepals 5, petal-like, white to rose, obovate, 7-10 mm. long; filaments slender, but broadened above; petals none.

Follicles 3-5, obliquely ovate in outline, 4-7 mm. long, spreading, the style persistent and beak-like, hooked at the tip.
