Distribution: In the Olympic and Cascade Mountains of Washington; Washington south to Oregon.

Habitat: Rock crevices and rocky ridges and slopes, mid- to high elevations in the mountains.

Flowers: June-August

Origin: Native

Growth Duration: Perennial

Description:
General:

Herbaceous perennial from slender rhizomes, the erect flowering stems 1-2.5 dm. tall.

Leaves:

Basal leaves with reniform blades 3-5 cm. broad, much wider than long, with large membranous, brownish stipules; leaf blades shallowly lobed, the lobes with rounded teeth, strongly pubescent, glandular above; cauline leaves 2-3, small.

Flowers:

Inflorescence a terminal raceme; calyx cup-shaped, greenish-yellow, the tubular portion 3-4 mm. long, the 5 lobes the same length, triangular-oblong, erect; petals 5, white, with a short claw about equaling the 3-7 cleft blade; stamens 5.

Fruits:

Ovoid capsule 4-5 mm. long, the 2 carpels fused less than + their length.
