Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in Washington; Alaska to California, east to Alberta, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Utah.

Habitat: Open, rocky places from mid- to high elevations in the mountains.

Siliques nearly erect, terete, linear, 2-3 cm. long and 1-1.5 mm. broad, somewhat lumpy, rounded at the tip; seeds in 1 series.

Leaves alternate, numerous, inbricate, linear to linear-lanceolate, 2-12 mm. long, and 0.5-3 mm. broad, the mid-nerve very prominent, with stiff, straight, simple hairs on the margins, and sometimes with a few coarse, simple or forked hairs on the lower surface, the upper surface glabrous.

Inflorescence of 3- to 15-flowered, bractless racemes; sepals 4, erect; petals 4, yellow, 2-6 mm. long; stamens 6; style 0.5-1 mm. long.

Silicles ovate to ovate-elliptic, 2-7 mm. long and 2-3.5 mm. broad, coarsely pubescent with simple to stellate hairs.
