Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in Washington; north-central Washington to northeast Oregon, east to western Idaho.
Habitat: Sand dunes and other dry, open areas at low elevations.

Glabrous, mildly aromatic perennial from a branched, woody base and stout taproot, the stems 10-60 cm. tall including the long, terminal peduncle.
Leaves numerous, petiolate, chiefly basal, the blade 3-18 cm. long, broadly ovate in outline, from half as wide to fully as wide as long; leaf blade ternate-pinnately dissected, with numerous small and crowded ultimate segments.
Inflorescence a compound umbel, the rays elongating unequally, 1.5-7 cm. long; involucre wanting; involucel of narrow, green bractlets 2-6 mm. long; calyx teeth 0.5-1.5 mm. long, pointed, greenish; flowers yellow.
Fruit ovoid-oblong, somewhat flattened, with lateral wings equaling the body and dorsal wings only slightly smaller.
