Distribution: Occurring west of the Cascades crest along the marine coast in Washington; Alaska to California.

Habitat: Bluffs and rocky or sandy beaches along the seashore.

Nearly glabrous perennial from a short crown and fleshy, fibrous roots, the single stem 2-10 dm. high.

Leaves all cauline, pinnately 2-4 times compound, appearing to have deeply cleft leaflets.

Umbels 1-several, with 8-30 sub-equal rays 1.5-5 cm. long; involucre often wanting; involucel of well-developed, narrow bractlets 4-8 mm. long, equalling the pedicles; calyx teeth none; flowers white.

Fruit elliptic-oblong, dorsally compressed, glabrous, 5-8.5 mm. long, the lateral wings well developed.
