Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in Washington; Washington to California, east to central Idaho and southeast Oregon.
Habitat: Dry, open places in the foothills to moderate or mid-elevations in the mountains.

Strongly glandular, slender annual, the simple to freely-branched stem up to 1.5 dm. tall.
Leaves linear, 1-5 cm. long and 1-5 mm. wide, the lower often opposite.
Flowers short-pedicellate, borne in 2- to 5-flowered clusters in the forks of the stem, the inflorescence often congested; calyx teeth 5, narrowly triangular, 2-3 mm. long, the tip firm; corolla lavender to pinkish, over twice as long as the calyx, with slender tube and 5 short lobes; filaments equally inserted but of unequal length, from 0.5 to 2.5 mm. long; style 3-parted; ovary superior.
Capsule with 3, 1-seeded carpels.
