Identification Notes:

Clavaria fumosa has a similar habit, but is pale smoky brown or pinkish brown. Clavaria rubicudula is also similar, but is pale pinkish and less widespread. Clavaria actua is white, but smaller and it usually has a distinct, translucent white stem. It never forms large clusters, but grows singly or in small groups.
