Distribution: Occurring west of the Cascades crest on the Olympic Peninsula and south in Washington; Washington south along the coast to southwestern Oregon.

Habitat: Wet banks and near waterfalls, usually growing in moss, from low to middle elevations in the mountains.

Glabrous, herbaceous perennials from slender, fragile rhizomes, the stems trailing to erect, branching or simple, often with very slender, stolonous basal shoots 5-40 cm. long.

Leaves alternate, glabrous, succulent, the lower ones entire with elliptic blades 1.5-4 mm. long and slender petioles of equal length; cauline leaves numerous, oblong-obovate, up to 19 mm. long and 11 mm. broad, with 3 lobes across the rounded tip.

Flowers 2-several in raceme-like, loose, simple to branched, bracteate cymes; calyx glabrous, 2.5-3.5 mm. long, the 5 lobes triangular; petals 5, white with pink veins, 2-4 times as long as the calyx lobes; stamens 10, equaling the calyx lobes, inserted with the petals; ovary 2/3 inferior.

Capsule 3.5-5 mm. long.
