Long-lived perennials, from a typically woody crown; stems simple or few-branched from each caudex branch, 10-25 cm tall, glabrous throughout.

Basal leaves narrowly oblanceolate, usually 1-3 mm broad, margins entire or rarely with few teeth near apex, not ciliate, sparsely pubescent above and beneath, 2-8-rayed trichomes short-stalked and up to 0.2 mm; cauline leaves 4-8, not hiding stem, lobe-like appendages at base 1-2 mm, surfaces becoming glabrous towards ends of stems.

Inflorescence usually 5-12-flowered, typically unbranched racemes; fruiting pedicels spreading-ascending to rarely horizontally spreading, not curved, 2-5 mm, glabrous, secund or often weakly so; flowers ascending; sepals 4, glabrous; petals 4, purple to light purple, 4.5-5 mm long and 1-1.5 mm broad, glabrous; pollen spheroid.

Siliques 3.5-5 cm long and 1.5-2 mm broad, spreading-ascending or uncommonly spreading horizontally, not appressed to rachis, not curved, with parallel edges; valves glabrous; seeds in 1 series, 1.1-1.5 mm long and 0.9-1.3 mm broad, with a continuous wing to 0.3 mm broad.
