Tufted perennial from a well-branched crown, the several stems erect, 1-2.5 dm. tall, glabrous throughout or pubescent at the base.

Basal leaves numerous, bright green, rather fleshy, 1.5-3 cm. long and 1.5-5 mm. broad, the blades elliptic-oblanceolate, acute, entire, narrowed to slender petioles, glabrous to copiously hairy on the lower surface with hairs branched in a tree-like fashion; cauline leaves alternate, several sessile and auriculate, oblong-ovate to narrowly oblong, 10-20 mm. long and 2.5 mm. wide, usually glabrous.

Inflorescence of 3- to 15-flowered racemes; pedicles 5-10 mm. long; sepals 4, mostly glabrous, often purplish, 3-4 mm. long; petals 4, purple, 6-10 mm. long; stamens 6; style 0.5 mm. long.

Siliques glabrous, 1-nerved full length, 2-6 cm. long and 2-3 mm. wide, straight or curved, erect or spreading; seeds in 1 series, 2 mm. long, with a wing up to 0.5 mm. broad.
