Rough-hairy annual, glandular above, the 1-several slender stems erect to ascending, simple to freely-branched, 10-30 cm. tall.
Leaves opposite, ovate to lanceolate, 3-nerved, much shorter than the internodes, 3-7 mm. long and 1.5-4 mm. wide, short-petiolate.
Flowers several in an open, diffuse, leafy-bracteate inflorescence; pedicels up to 4 times as long as the flowers; sepals 5, lanceolate, pointed, 3 mm. long; petals 5, white, 2/3 as long as the sepals; stamens 10; styles 3.
Capsule ovoid, equaling the sepals, opening by 6 valves.
