Original identification: Leptosiphon bicolor
Current identification: Leptosiphon bicolor
Photographer: Patrick Loafman
Date Photographed: May 18, 2024
Location: Washington, Clallam County: Lyre River Mouth with Cerastium arvense, Lomatium nudicaule,Luzula subsessilis, very close to the edge of the saltwater Strait. No hairs on calyx faces, edges ciliate. Many individuals in the population had calyx/corolla lengths in the overlap sizes of Leptosiphon bicolor and L. minimus, but some like in the picture had large corolla tubes well in the range distinctive of L. bicolor, whereas the calyx lengths were mostly 7-8mm which is not distinctive but the lack of hairs on calyx faces is also like L. bicolor.
