Location: U.S.A., Washington, Jefferson County: Kala Point Beach, Port Townsend. Large population on sandy beach. This is the same locale as the Burke specimen WTU 397263 collected by Fred Weinmann. Nearly black tepals. Terminal spikelets congested into a head. At least 1 stem in each tuft of stems had an extra spikelet from a lower leaf axil like shown in this picture.
