Comments: This leaf spot disease is commonly seen and is caused by a fungal pathogen, possibly Exobasidium burtii or E. vaccinii (see David F. Farr, H. Bartolome Esteban, Mary E. Palm. 1996. Fungi on Rhododendron: A World Reference) and/or possibly the rust Chrysomyxa ledi (syn. Pseudophacidium ledi), which is also known to occur on Menziesia ferruginea and Vaccinium spp.
