Comments: Note the arrangement of leaves - 2 rows forming a herring-bone pattern on top, 1 row on each side, and 2 rows on underside - which distinguishes this species from the E. North American Lycopodium obscurum (which has 1 row on top, 2 rows on each side, and 1 row on the underside).
