Notes: Well established in the Puget Trough, where first collected in Seattle in 1935. Also known from northeast Washington (Stevens County), southwest and south-central British Columbia, the lower Columbia River of Oregon, and eastern North America. Previously confused with Lycopus americanus; L. europaeus has longer calyces (2.7-4 mm) with longer teeth (1.6-2.5 mm), and more conspicuously pubescent lower leaf surfaces especially along the veins.
