Notes: FNA9: "Rubus pubescens is defined by its trailing, unarmed stems, ternate to pedate leaves, oblanceolate to obovate stipules, and small, white flowers. It is known to hybridize with R. arcticus subsp. acaulis in areas of sympatry, the hybrid referable to R. xparacaulis L. H. Bailey. These plants are similar to R. arcticus subsp. acaulis in having more obovate, rounded leaflets, and larger, pink to magenta petals; they are larger, creeping, and have hairy and stipitate-glandular pedicels and sepals like R. pubescens."
