Notes: Recently described (Phipps & O\\'Kennon 1998) and found east of the Cascades. A segregate from C. douglasii, differing in its fruit shape, fruit waxiness, twig color, and larger flowers. It is often difficult to identify. A key to black-fruited taxa is provided in Phipps & O\\'Kennon (2002).
